They've submitted their Blackberry 7 Operating System to independent third party validation at a Common Criteria evaluation facility. The popular mobile device operating system earned an accredited certification for assurance level EAL4+, which is the highest level of accreditation under the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA).

The Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement is the representation of an international standard for validating that products meet a certain set of security requirements.
